Introduction

Moved from the Netherlands to CA in '98 for my work. Do hardware, software and system design for cordless office telephony systems.

Outdoor Philosophy

I'm adventurous. Like to vary between all kinds of activities. Mostly relaxed to sometimes the adrenaline stuff like rafting class 5 rapids, jumping from cliffs into water, etc... As long as I consider it safe enough. Not so much into endurance, like marathons.

Outdoor Experience and Interest

Do rockclimbing, rafting, rollerblading, skiing, snowboarding, waterskiing, biking, hiking/backpacking, windsurfing, swimming. Did some sailing, diving, horseback riding. Want to learn to do whitewater kayaking, get diving certified. Still on the list: hanggliding, parachute jump. Rockclimbing was mainly indoor, since we have no mountains in the Netherlands. Have gear for bolted routes, but since those are very limited in California, I would like to learn which pro to buy and how to place it. Climb 5.10b/c indoors. Can lead 5.9 outdoors.
