Maybe!
I was going to look for a cheap room for Fri & Sat.
I couldn't find the campground on the net.
Too cold, anyway!

Yeah, I see it.
Thanks!
And, it looks dang COLD in FEBRUARY!!

I'll already be pushing my comfort zone
in a dark, WET cave! I'll take sweating anytime.
I am not a snowbunny!

Jeez! I'm shivering now just thinking about it!

After just experiencing 9 degrees in JTree, I am definitely NOT camping here in Feb!

Tammy, can you suggest any motels in the area?

Kelly, I'd be up for hiking (or fishing) on Sunday!

Eureka!
I found a Super 8 in Madera, dirt cheap.
Heater included!!

An eagle viewing hike would be cool!
Maybe next year,Tammy?

Well, why wait for the guided tour to the Cache Creek Natural Area to see the Bald Eagles when we can do it ourselves

That would be cool though I've never seen a Bald Eagle in the wild

After looking into that Cache Creek Natural Area it's a little ways away like 250 miles north west of Millerton lake

Aw, really? It was a local press release from the area, I thought.

Just as well, I guess! It says, "The four-mile hikes last three to four hours. The trail includes a steep, 600-foot climb in the first mile"

Whoa! Ha! I cannot even imagine how long that would take ME! (You notice I suggested NEXT year?) I don't want to be left for dead in the freezing temps!!

Cheryl, their seems to be a few trails ranging from 4 - 10 miles in that area and it also looks like you can mt bike the trails too

Mt bike anyone?

BTW, after looking it up the average low for that area is in the mid 30's

I don't have a mtn bike, but I do have a fishin' pole! I can already hear all those fish calling my name! We don't have any good lakes down here.

I thought I send an email about the mtn biking.  Yeah there is a great trail across the bridge for Mtn Biking.  I just did it the other week and it goes up to this great overlook of the river.

As for hiking I would suggest to go up to Shaver Lake (its right up the hill).  Beautiful area and Im sure there is info on the web about it.  There might still be some snow in Feb.

If your looking to get a hotel room.  I highly suggest something in Clovis before I would get something in Madera.  Clovis is much closer.  Madera is going to be at least an hour away.

There is a comfort suites in clovis and Im sure more inexpensive places.
