So who is willing to carpool.

How do you get to the 74 from Irvine, 5N or 5S.

Hi all. Just a heads up that there is a 15k trail race originating from Blue Jay Campground on 2/5 with about 100 entrants. The race starts at 8AM and will be going down the San Juan Trail to Sugarloaf and back up through Chiquito Basin on the old San Juan Trail. Shouldn't impact this trip too much but wanted you to be aware of runners in this event which is authorized by the USFS. The only common section with your route will be the upper two miles of the San Juan Trail. Most participants will probably be off the course by around 10 AM.

Scott, thank you for the update.  We will be around Chiquito Basin afternoon hours, so we should be OK.

I'll keep an eye out for you. I'm running the race but will probably take another loop on the course to remove the marking ribbon for the race directors.

There has been questions if there are actually hot springs in the area.  I am sorry to let you know that the hot springs in the area was all closed after a fire some years ago, none is accessible now.

We will just enjoy two waterfalls and a great hike.
