To those of you who were asking.  There is a lot of food (energy bars, bananas, gatorade) at the rest stops but I don't think they have beer.  They might have beer at the lunch afterwards.

Just a reminder that if you want to go on this ride you need to also register at the Diabetes Assoc. website and need to raise at least $125.  I think you can also register at the event.

I have official collection envelopes that I am supposed to distribute ahead of time but I will bring them to the event.

If you have any questions please email me or post them on the discussion board.  A few days before the event I will select an exact meeting spot.

Thank you

The $20 regsistration fee includes an official Tour de Cure t-shirt, a goodie bag, and lunch - but I doubt that beer will be provided.

Therefore, I will bring beer for the ODC riders to enjoy after the ride with their lunch.

Consider this a bribe!

I know fund-raising isn't for everyone, so I suspect that's why the ridership on this organized bike ride for the American Diabetes Association is so low.

However, if you can't ride but could contribute monetarily in any amount - none is too small - please click on this link (payment can be by credit card or check):

On the bottom of the page, you'll see the names of 3 riders, but Rosa has dropped out.  Click on any one of the other names, preferably mine, and then click on the large "CLICK HERE TO SPONSOR ME" button.

O.K. ODC'ers.  Let's support our group here.  If just ten of you give $10 each...well you do the math.  And here's your chance to add fuel to the fire of the Jeff vs. Lee showdown!

Calling all Casual Riders!

If you do decide to donate, make sure you select the person who leads the best casual rides and stops at the best bars and promotes people off of the Wait List for just the purchase of a beer!

And please don't think that about yourself, Jeff.  Two of my donations were from my brothers.  You will note that there is a single penny in my total amount - that was my one brother's attempt to one-up my other brother by donating the same amount plus 1 cent!

Can you say "sibling rivalry"?

Folks, you only have one more week to enter the Jeff vs. Lee competition.   If you love both of us equally you can contribute to both of us.

Thank you for your support.

Jeff must have called in his rich relatives - someone made a $200 donation (good on 'em, whoever they are)

So, yes, Dessie, that's what it means - Lee's coffers need mo' donations!

Remember, give 'til it hurts me!

And here's a link directly to my donation page:

We are one of the top 30 teams in Southern California!  And since our team name is our website address we get some nice publicity out of this also.  Go Outdoorsclub.org!

You're a great straight man for me, Jeff!!

Considering that we have only 2 people on our Outdoorsclub.org team and we've collectively raised over $600, it's quite an accomplishment.

And what's more amazing is that, besides Jeff and me, only 6 other people from the ODC have donated to this cause.

And Jeff and I and the Diabetes Foundation appreciate every dollar of it!  You're great people!

I am impressed Lee.  Neil Armstrong is almost always quoted as having said "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind."  The line he claims he actually said was "That's one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind" which makes more sense.  You actually got it right.
