Event Information
Event Name Wood's End Exploratory Hike
Event Date/Time 1/22/2005 from N/A to N/A
Location in LAGUNA BEACH, CA
Event Type Backpacking, Hiking, Camping
Event Description I want to check out the new Wood's End access to the Dilley Greenbelt/Laguna Coast Wilderness Park. Wood's End is not "officially" part of the Laguna Coast Wilderness Park yet but it abuts Dilley and you can enter it during the weekends (according to the person I spoke to at the Laguna Canyon Foundation). I don't know the exact route or distance at this point but plan on approximately 6-8 miles and/or 2.5 hour worth of hiking (I'll bring my GPS so I can keep track of distance and make sure we don't get lost). Remember, I tend to keep up a quick pace with few breaks so be advised. Afterward, a post hike visit to Aliso Town Center where there is a variety of places to have a beer and grab some food. I will post more information about the route when I figure it out.

Details:

Time: Meet at 9:45. Hike starts at 10 sharp.

Place: Wood's End gate at the "T" of El Toro Road and Aliso Creek Road

See Link map

Parking: There is no parking at the gate. Street parking is available in the area although I'm not sure exactly where.

Anticipated route:

Misc: Rain cancels.

Bring: Water, money if you plan to go out afterwards.

Email me if you have questions.
