Event Description

We will be working in the vicinity of a known beaver dam, as well as red-legged frog and arroyo toad habitats, restoring oak woodland in once heavily used campground areas of the Santa Barbara back country.  We will be planting oak seedlings and acorns on Saturday, and removing non-native, invasive plant species on Sunday.

We will hike and play in the afternoons, looking for active beaver at the dam and other uncommon wildlife in the area.  We will enjoy a warm fire on Saturday night along with our legendary stir fry dinner.  Meet us Saturday morning at 9:30 am near the worksite, about 10 miles up San Marcos Pass (Hwy. 154) from the city of Santa Barbara.  All you need is your camping gear, warm clothes and sturdy shoes.  This project is limited to 20 people total (from this list and others), first come first served.
