Event Description

Please join us for a easy paced 4m hike to Kitchen Creek falls (the short way).

About 50 miles east on the I-8 from the 805 is a magical spot called kitchen creek falls. You wouldn't know about it unless someone showed you how to get there. An obscure trail veers off the PCT, evidence that it is also favoured by a few others. After rain is a great time to see the flow. You can wade in the shallow ponds. Lightweight water shoes come in handy in the summer months. Emil introduced me to this spot a few years ago.

Wear hiking footwear with aggressive lug soles for the steep, narrow, bushy trail down to the waterfall area and some slippery conditions crossing the creek. There may be poison oak- long pants/sleeves recommended. Balance required to cross the stream hopping on rocks, and skill to navigate slippery rock face. Bring sandwich/snacks, 2 quarts of water, and a joyous attitude.  Experienced wilderness hikers invited.

There is space for 7 people total, and it is cross posted with the Sierra Club. Currently  there are two spots left. Sign up even if it says "full" - i will add people from the waiting list. Hope to see you soon!

Although this may be relatively easy for experienced hikers it is rated intermediate due to some steep terrain and potentially slippery areas. Hiking poles could be useful. This is a Sierra Club hike.

Meeting details will be shared closer to the time.

( no plus ones, and this time the hike is not suitable for kids, dogs)
