I want to thank Rick and Christi for their hospitality above their sailboat!  This was more than a great paddle, it was a fun social event.  Thanks everyone for coming, and hope to see you all on another paddle soon!

 Independence Day

Paddle: 8:45am-12:30pm

Paddle: This is a beginning paddle.  I will be giving some formal instruction prior to setting out.  Please be in shape to paddle approx 2-3 miles.

We will all PRE-Pay at rental shop (pay the shop people before we hit the water). We will also stay together as a group.

We will be stopping 3/4 way through and tie up to Rick and Christi's boat, where we will be served coffee and muffins! (About a half hour break). Rental cost is $20 for our group, paid before setting out (this cost still needs to be confirmed by rental shop; subject to change). Expect that we will be out about 2.5-3 hours. Parking is metered, so bring change, LOTS OF QUARTERS, as well as money for the snack along the way! (There is some street/non metered parking on Ocean available). RENTAL PLACE DOES NOT TAKE CREDIT CARDS.

Directions:

Rental place is on Ocean Blvd and 54th Pl (Bayside of the penninsula) in Long Beach. From north or south, exit 405 at Lakewood Blvd and head south. At traffic circle, take second spur...PCH south. Make right at Ximeno. Take Ximeno to 2nd St, make left. Right on Granada, Left on Ocean. Look for parking beginning of Ocean and Bayshore. Rental place is behind handball/hockey courts.

Bring: sunscreen, tevas or sandals (rental shop will not allow you to paddle with jeans or tennis shoes), and water to drink along the way.

(Those with history of not showing on previous paddles will be removed from the guest list).
