I reserved a group campsite at the Laguna Campground. This will be a joint event w/the Southern California Camping and Hiking Cooperative. PLEASE no plus ones or bringing a friend. The actual campground information is available only after signing up.
There are a few good trails in the area. Everyone will be responsible for their own food and drink. We will have a happy hour and potluck dinner Saturday night. There are pit toilets at the campsite and pay showers (bring quarters) in the main campground a short walk away. There is a nice fire pit.
Because of low participation this year the cost will be ten dollars per person. I will be collecting $15.76 fee PRIOR to the event ($10 campsite fee, $.076 Paypal fee, $5 car fee for non carpool peeps, and for those carpooling peeps a refundable $5 back). Refunds are only offered IN PERSON at the campsite on the day of the event. The site only holds fifteen cars. Additional cars are five dollars.
Payments can be made via Amazon, Paypal (azelones@san.rr.com) or checks to: Andrea Zelones, 8879 Keremeos Way, San Diego, CA 92126.
Please bring firewood.
The site will be available at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. We check out Sunday before 2:00 p.m. There will be a hike from the campsite to Garnet Peak sometime Saturday morning. The Big Laguna Trail is an easier option. The main goal is to relax and have a good time.
There is a small store just down the road from the campground to buy any last minute items or food. The historic town of Julian is about a half hour away and has a variety of restaurants.
DOGS: Well behaved dogs are welcome on this trip. Dogs are allowed off leash on trails under owners command and must be leashed in the campground. Dogs must be secured away from the group during mealtime. Let us know if you are bringing a dog.
