Ojai Day Bike Ride
For those who aren’t in a hurry!
This my third ride to the Ojai Days and it's always a great time. I can tell ya it’s one of my favorite road rides with 95% of the trail on a dedicated bike path thanks heavily to the people at Rails to Trails. The plan is pretty easy, we’ll meet at San Buenaventura State Beach parking lot (same as the last 2 previous trips) then head up to Ojai for Ojai Day, hang out for a little and have BBQ tri-tip & beer (what more can you ask for) then head back.
Ojai Day is a the annual downtown street fair hosted by the Recreation Department but it’s not your ordinary festival – it’s a cultural explosion bursting with art, food, spiritual incantations, multi-ethnic celebrations and good old fashion fun and games. Ojai Day offers a little something for everyone and tops it off with Ojai’s unique character
Meeting Time & Place: 10:00am at the San Buenaventura State Beach Parking Lot. If you don’t want to pay you can park on the surrounding streets.
Miles: 37 +/- w/ 95% paved bike trail & 5% on road
Elevation Gain/Loss: 750ft +/-
Difficulties: Moderate, only because of the miles but if you are a beginner and think you’re ready for a little longer ride please join us.
Take the 101 Fwy north to Ventura and get off at Seaward Ave, make a left, drive 350yrds to Pierpoint Blvd then make a right. Take this .4 miles to just past San Pedro St and there it will dead-end into the parking lot. There's a fee for parking (maybe $8) or you can find a spot along the street somewhere and ride in.
