Event Date/Time 4/10/2010 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Location in Los Angeles, CA
Event Type Sailing
Event Description

Join me on my Ericson 35 sailboat for a day sail (the boat in the picture is not my boat but it is the same model). I can almost promise we will be visited by dolphins. If we are especially lucky, maybe a whale will swim by. We will sail all day until late afternoon. We will leave the slip at 9: A.M. sharp.  Be sure to bring a warm jacket, deck shoes or shoes with a white or gum colored sole that will not mark the deck, lunch, refreshments and a snack. I have an icebox so feel free to bring items that need to stay cool.

MONEY: There is no charge for the trip but a donation of about $5.00 for gasoline and maintenance would be appreciated.

DIRECTIONS TO BOAT: My the boat is located in the County of Ventura Commercial Marina located between Vintage Marina and Oxnard's Marine Emporium Landing (small shopping mall).

Take the 101 North to Victoria Ave. in Oxnard.

Turn left on Victoria Ave. (You will be on this road for several miles)

Turn Right on Channel Island Blvd.

After crossing the bridge, turn left on Harbor Blvd.

After about ½ mile on Harbor Blvd. Turn left onto Cabezone Circle (there are several two story buildings on Cabezone Circle that comprise a small shopping mall. As soon as you turn onto Cabezone Circle (note there is another entrance to Cabezone Circle further down Harbor Blvd.) make an immediate left into a parking lot. Drive about 50 yards and park. After you find the boat and unload your lunch, you may want to park on the south west side of Harbor Blvd. because parking in the lot is limited to 3 hours for cars without a permit.

The boat is in a very small marina northwest of the peninsula which contains Cabazone Circle. The marina is The Ventura Commercial Marina – about 1/3 fishing boats. I will have the door to the dock held open with a rock. My boat is ¾ of the way down the second dock (not the dock next to the peninsula, but one over). The slip is B25. The boat is a white (with a gold-brown stripe along the rail) Ericson 35 with teal canvas covers over the woodwork. The covers may be gone by the time you get to the boat.
