This is the third annual Mt Waterman Hike and Perseid Shower Vewing

August 8 and 9, Saturday and Sunday: Hike Mt Waterman Saturday Morning and optionally Twin Peaks on Sunday.   Hiking, Bouldering, and Biking in the afternoon for those so inclined. The hike is moderate, round trip less than 6 miles. Evening BBQ in front of the Waterman Warming Hut with restrooms. Watch the Perseid Meteorite Shower from dark to whenever (the is prime time after midnight).  Party and camp out on top of Waterman.  Sunday would be a great time to bag Twin Peaks with an nice morning hike.  We have been contacted by several Astronomy clubs who will hopefully bring their expertise and equipment to the mountain.

Meet at 8 am on the Angeles Crest (Rt 2) just north of the 210 Freeway.  Carpool to the Waterman Ski Lift parking lot.  Hike will start just before 9 am - about 6 miles.  The lifts will be running to take people and equipment to the top for a small fee or you will be able to drive up the jeep trail to bring equipment for the camp out and BBQ.

There are a number of great places to camp on top -some where you can watch the meteor shower right from your tent flaps.
