A great midweek urban walk. Meet new people, enjoy the exercise and a wideangle view of the city.
Join us for steep brisk 1 hour walk all the way up the montain to a crisp fabulous view of Downtown, Griffith Park, Glendale, and if it's very clear, the ocean. This walk is entirely on roads and sidewalks, no dirt trails.
We start at 7pm sharp, please take into account traffic and parking times.
After the hike, we'll grab dinner or just a coffee. Across the street there is a Coffee Bean, Quizno's, Babu's (falafel and gyros) and McDonald's.
Note: This hike is not recommended for anyone with weak ankles or knees. It is steep, especially on the way down.
WHERE:
Verdugo Park, 1621 Canada Blvd, Glendale
Heading north on Verdugo, make sure you bear LEFT at the fork onto Canada Blvd. After turning into Verdugo Park, keep making lefts until you are at a deadend. You will be right next to a skateboard park. If you don't see the skateboard park, you're not there yet.
Parking is free in Verdugo Park after 6 or so.
Meet in the last parking lot in the south end of the park It's between baseball fields and the skateboard park.
WHEN:
6:45pm. Hike starts promptly at 7. Please take into account traffic and parking time.
BRING:
Good walking/hiking shoes, hat, jacket, money for dinner or coffee. |
