Location:
Peters Canyon Regional Park
8548 E. Canyon View Ave.
Orange, CA When: 10:00am This is a hike for beginners as far as levels of hiking ability goes, although Peters Canyon can provide a hiking experience for advanced hikers, this route will be geared towards beginners and first timers. So all you tigers might want to stay home. I personally am at the beginner level, because I'm a wuss, and I cry and whine when I walk up big hills, that's assuming I can still breathe, lol. Bring good shoes, tennis shoes will work fine, water, maybe a snack, and a hat or sun block for protection from the sun. There is a $3 fee for parking (exact change only), and the lot is not that big so I suggest carpooling with others. We'll wait for 15 minutes by the park map at the end of the parking lot for everyone. This hike is a little over 4 miles on the beginner route, and longer if you take the advanced route. At my turtle pace it takes about 2 hours to complete. Kids and Dogs are welcome!! For those interested, there are several great restaurants in the area where we can have a well deserved lunch afterwards. This hike is crossposted with several other groups, so don't worry about low signups. Rain within 72 hours cancels this hike. |
